Top Questions from First-Time Visitors

First-time visitors may remain clothed while touring the resort in our respectful clothing-optional environment. Our general guideline is “clothed when practical, nude when appropriate.” Nudity is required in the pool, spa, and sauna.

Bring at least one towel per person, sunscreen, comfortable shoes, and a cover-up for cooler weather. Nudist etiquette requires carrying a towel to sit or lounge on at all times.

Yes. We are a family-friendly resort with a playground, game room, and children’s area. Families of all ages are welcome.

Not at all. Guests come in all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds. Nude recreation is about self-acceptance and mutual respect — most visitors quickly feel comfortable and at ease.

Mountaindale Sun Resort is affiliated with the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR), a national organization promoting ethical, family-friendly naturism.

Visiting & First-Time Guests

No. While we are a private member-supported nonprofit organization, non-members are welcome. First-time visitors must complete a registration card. Members of other nudist organizations (AANR, TNS, INF, FCN) are welcome and may receive discounted rates.

Absolutely. Day visitors are always welcome, and daily fees are listed on our Rates page.

Yes. We welcome anyone who visits the resort and adheres to rules and behavior standards, as a family oriented nudist resort.

 

Clothing & Etiquette

Bring a light travel bag with:

  • At least one towel per person

  • Sunscreen

  • Athletic shoes or equipment

  • A cover-up for cooler weather

Polite nudist etiquette requires carrying a towel to sit or lounge on at all times.

You will find that many people enjoy the nudist lifestyle. They will respect your privacy as you will respect their privacy.

Activites & Amenities

Mountaindale Sun Resort offers:

  • Pickleball, smashball, and basketball

  • Hiking trails (maps available)

  • Horseshoes and outdoor games

  • Swimming pool, hot tub, and sauna

  • Clubhouse social activities

  • RV camping and overnight stays

We do not have a café, but guests may use the resort kitchen to prepare meals. Grocery stores and restaurants are about 20 minutes away in Banks or North Plains.

Overnight Stays

Please contact the Club Host about guest housing options, including renting one of our member cabins.

Families & Pets

Yes! Mountaindale Sun Resort is a family-friendly destination with a playground, game room, and children’s area.

Comfort, Safety & Expectations

Not at all. People of all shapes and sizes visit Mountaindale. Nude recreation is about self-acceptance and respect for others. You’ll quickly feel comfortable and welcomed.

Our members come from diverse backgrounds, professions, beliefs, and lifestyles. What unites everyone is a shared respect for social nudity and community. At Mountaindale, you can truly “Just Wear a Smile.”

Any public sexual behavior or touching is not permitted and will result in immediate and permanent removal. Mountaindale is a family-friendly resort and strictly separates social nudity from sexual activity.

Practical Info

EV charging stations are available at Veterans Memorial Park in North Plains, Oregon (Exit 57 off Hwy 26). Amenities include picnic tables, benches, a bike repair station, and accessible facilities.
