SportsFest 2024

SportsFest 2024 – July 26, 27, 28 2024

SportsFest 2024 was a huge success. The words from many attendees were, “See you next year!”

The number of attendees increased from last year substantially. All sporting events had good participation. The Pickleball Clinic and tournaments were well attended and MSR members left with many of the Pickleball medals.

The Poker Hike and Disc Golf continued to be big favorites with participants enjoying the trails. The Bocce Ball, Shuffleboard, Darts, Table Pool, Corn Hole, and other events were well attended. We can’t forget the laughter and joy from the pool for the Water Sports. There were 1st through 3rd-place medals for all winners.

So far, we have three confirmed new members from the event. We have a renewal confirmed plus other attendees reviewing membership applications.

The food was amazing. We exceeded all our counts for meals. The wine event was a good getting-to-know-you gathering. The Saturday Night party had folks dancing until the very end. Wes, our MC, kept us entertained with oldies and goodies for our listening pleasure all weekend.

A huge thank you to all MSR members for the many things they did to create such a successful SportsFest. First, thank you to all the sports volunteers and helpers. We couldn’t have done this without you. Thank you all the folks who donated equipment for the games. Thank you to the volunteers who make our grounds so beautiful. We had numerous compliments about our gardens and grounds. Thank you to the entire food staff, potluck contributors, and those who cleaned up. The food was plentiful, and we fed a lot of people (fast!). Thank you to the Mountaindale Store team that helped sell our many items and the members who donated the T-Shirts and visors. Thank you to the MSR staff who kept up with the extra demands on their time to keep all our guests happy.

Lastly, kudos to Wendy, Rylla, Liz, Darrel, Vanessa, Pat, Nicole, Judy, George, Rich, and Jacque for the many hours of planning this event. Thanks to you, we had great planning, great public relations, great meals, great sports, and many other “greats”.
