Their book lays out an approach to the care and stewardship of forests * ecological forestry * and explains both why it matters and how to practice it in Washington and Oregon. Discover how to read and understand what*s going on in a forest, evaluate forestland, establish new stands of trees, manage a sustainable wood harvest, and protect your forest from catastrophic fire.
